New Beginnings – Hummingbirds Painting 24 x 18

The hummingbirds and nest in this painting are signaling a time of new beginnings and the start of something new. This new endeavor will seemingly occur our of the blue or as if you stumbled upon it. However it is the result of seeds planted long ago and now everything is coming together. It is cause for celebration because this new endeavor will bring you much delight and abundance. This is not a time to sit and wait for things to unfold, as the hummingbirds are joyously and actively preparing. Keep taking action. Notice how each action feels in your body. Let go of those that feel heavy and restrictive and do more of those that feel uplifting or expansive. The elements of air in this painting are also signifying that any foggy stagnation of the past is clearing and the winds of change are blowing you in the right direction. Rest up and enjoy any down time you have because there will be lots of movement and positive change in the coming months.

Inspiration Behind the Painting

I received the inspiration for this painting when I was hiking Doe Mountain in Sedona, Arizona. I paused on the trail to catch my breath and take in the view when suddenly a humming bird zoomed up from below and whizzed by my head. I turned to see where it would go. It flew up a little ways and then back to the juniper tree beside me. It flew into the middle of the juniper, to a tiny nest that was sitting in the “v” of a tree branch, where it sat. Although I’d had lots of hummingbirds around my home, coming to the feeders and the bee balm I’d planted all around, I’d never seen a hummingbird in a nest in the wild. It was totally amazing!!
