Negative Thinking and the Thought Ladder

Negative emotions are generated by negative thoughts and negative thinking patterns. We feel better, when we think better. We can transformation our negative thoughts and the subsequent feelings they create by using a thought ladder.

What you’ll discover:

  • It’s normal for us to have negative thoughts.
  • Research indicates 80% of thoughts are negative and 95% are repetitive, when we tend to think the same negative thoughts everyday.
  • Our brain is like a computer. Negative thoughts are like a “virus that spreads more negative thinking.
  • Due to our brains Reticular Activating System, if we allow our brain to routinely think negative, it’ll look for and find more things to be negative about, which perpetuates more negative thinking and feeling.
  • When we routinely think a negative thought, it becomes a habit. Once something becomes a habit it is stored in our subconscious. This means we are no longer consciously aware of the negative thought that is causing the negative feeling. We feel sad, angry, restless, etc. and don’t know why.
  • Affirmations don’t work because we try to leap from a negative thought to a super positive thought too quickly.
  • Our brain needs time to unravel from the negative thought.
  • A thought ladder is a tool and technique that helps bridge the gap from a negative thought to a empowered thought in a way the brain believes.
