Florals – Sold
This collection of semi-abstract floral paintings is a whole new style for me. It came about because of two things, one intentional and the other a happy discovery. The intentional goal was to paint 30 days of abstracts, something that was entirely new for me and out of my comfort zone. I hoped to explore the abstract process and follow the breadcrumbs of what is joyful and fun to paint. The second was stumbling across photos of wedding bouquets on Pinterest. The color combinations and designs just about blew my mind! So gorgeous! Lots of delicious, stand-out color combinations.
That I loved the floral bouquets on Pinterest so much shouldn’t surprise me. I’ve been an avid perennial gardener most of my life. I love to putter in the garden, cut flowers, arrange them in various size vases and place them around the house. When flowers aren’t available in the garden, I buy a flower bouquet or two for our home a couple of times a month. Suddenly I realized that my inspiration wasn’t just on Pinterest, it was right under my nose!
