What You Can Expect From Me in the New Year

I am excited to welcome in the New Year.

Making the decision to focus on art and painting has reinvigorated me and added a whole new sparkle to my life. To those of you that purchased original paintings or art prints, your actions gave my dream wings!

I am deeply grateful, and for that, you’ll always have a special place in my heart. For my one-year “art anniversary” I’m cooking up a special treat for you, so stay tuned.

Not only have I continued to paint almost every day, I’ve been having a ball stealing away to the beach a couple times a week to paint from my car. The ocean is so inspiring!

I’ve learned that many artists work in series or collections in order to explore a theme more deeply. I like this approach. Last year, I created a series of over twenty paintings that featured Kachina women, representing the feminine guardian in us all, along with animal totems, full moons and stars, and Sedona-inspired landscapes. I also intuited and wrote a metaphysical description (mini story) for each painting. My hope was that both the painting and its “story” would serve as a sacred messenger, a love note from the universe if you will, lighting your path or bringing a little bit of joy to your day. For a shot of inspiration, check out the Kachina Women and their messages here.

Exploring the Nature of Abundance
This year I’ve already begun work on a new series of paintings called “Fields of Abundance.” In this series, I’ll explore the metaphysical nature of abundance with paint, animal totems, nature elements, and color.

A Deeper Look Into How the Universe Communicates with Us
In my writings, emails, and blogs, I plan to do a deeper dive into the topic of sacred messengers as a whole, and all the various ways the Universe speaks with us through signs and synchronicities.

My appreciation for sacred messengers began when I was young. I remember being in the car with my Dad. I was worried about him. He was working two jobs to take care of my mom, baby sister and I, and he and my mom had another fight. He was always so strong. He was the rock in our family but that day he looked sad and defeated. It frightened me. So I closed my eyes and asked God to please help my Dad. When I opened my eyes, there was a huge rainbow arching over a lake straight ahead of us! To me it was a sign that my prayer was being answered. That sacred messenger in the form of a rainbow gave me hope. It made me feel like I wasn’t alone, and that my Dad and I were loved and supported.

Ever since then I’ve been fascinated by sacred messengers and all the various ways the Universe communicates with us. A few years ago, I began to document my personal experiences and collect stories of other people’s experiences (if you have story of your own, please share it with me!). While I’m knowledgeable about the topic (see my eGuide about Sacred Messengers), I feel I’ve only skimmed the surface. I look forward to digging deeper and learning more.

Given all the craziness going on in the world, I feel we all could use a little more reassurance that we’re connected to the Divine, and if we are open and aware, that force of love can guide us to a much richer and more fulfilling life.

I hope you’ll join me on the journey,
