Reiki is a beautiful form of energy healing that is versatile, gentle, and effective. It has also been in use for almost 100 years. A Japanese method of healing, Reiki uses life force energy to heal the body, mind and spirit. Life force energy nourishes all the cells in the body and supports their functioning. Reiki is used to balance and increase the life force energy. When your life force is low, you feel weak or a general sense of unease. Low life force can also make you susceptible to illness. Strengthening your life force will help your body heal and remain healthy.
My clients and family have reported that Reiki has eliminated headaches, severe back pain and a host of other aches and pains. It has also relieved depression, made them feel more peaceful, and improved their focus and motivation.
Reiki is non-invasive. A client lies on a massage table fully clothed. Using no touch or a light touch on accessible areas of the body, such as the head, upper shoulders, upper chest, abdomen, legs, etc.), a practitioner channels Reiki to a client.
Clients often report feeling deeply relaxed, more relaxed than they have a long, long time. The level of deep relaxation that Reiki induces triggers the body’s immune system and natural healing abilities. Hypnotherapists, me included, sometimes use Reiki to induce clients to the half-conscious state necessary for subconscious therapeutic work (uprooting and transforming limiting belief, for example). The relaxation effects of a Reiki session may be felt long after a session as many clients say they also sleep better at night following a Reiki session.
Based on the findings of quantum physicists we now know that energy does not “travel” anywhere. It is simply “sent” and received” by intention alone and is instantly “transmitted”. Hence, Reiki is equally effective in person or over great distances (a significant portion of my work is providing Distance Reiki with a written report).
However, Reiki’s greatest value is its broad versatility. Since everything in our world is made up of energy, Reiki or life force energy can be applied to anything and everything.
This understanding is so strong in Reiki practitioners that in addition to using Reiki to help clients, you might see practitioners sending Reiki to their meal, to an airplane (both for a smooth flight and to reduce the spread of germs while flying), or to an upcoming event!
Reiki is not only one of the most popular alternative healing modalities, it is now one of the top three complementary in-patient therapies in U.S. hospitals, according to an American Hospital Association (AHA) survey.
The following list is by no means extensive but it will give you a good idea of the various issues that Reiki can help with:
Many people feel immediate benefits from just one Reiki session. Those with chronic, long-term, or deeply routed issues should consider a series of Reiki sessions or ongoing Reiki sessions until symptoms improve.
